Affiliate Programs – Should I Give Out My Mailing Address?

Posted by blakeatl | Marketing Tips | Thursday 17 December 2009 10:57 am

I’m considering getting into affiliate programs but I’m feel unsure wether or not it is safe to give out all my personal information.
Currently I live in a basement sweet so I don’t want a bunch of junk mail showing up at my landlords door.
Have affiliate programs been known to spam junk mail?

an outdated affiliate program might send you junk mails. your privacy is violated.
most new affiliate program won’t bother sending you snail mails. all transactions and payments are done just online, using paypal and the like.
i’ve joined one who sells herbal products for adults that doesn’t bother me even sending unsolicited emails.

If you are joining reputable affiliate networks like Commission Junction, Linkshare, Clickbank etc, you don’t have to worry about snail mail junk.
You probably will get spammed on email, if any, as snail mail packages are more expensive to produce. It costs a lot more to print the mail pieces and pay the postage.
That said, I never got excessive emails from the affiliate programs too.
